Chapter 6

EVERYTHING felt like slow motion, felt like moving through a tunnel where the end didn’t matter because everything was okay now. Toby wasn’t pissed at me. He’d come back, and here we were, in his apartment, kissing, working our way back to his bedroom. Everything was okay because I wasn’t going to be confused anymore. Toby wouldn’t have to keep his secrets from me, and if he still didn’t feel comfortable about coming out because of where we lived or his parents or our friends, then we could leave this place. It was okay to leave because no matter where we went, we’d be together.

God, my mind wouldn’t stop churning.

The backs of my knees hit the edge of his bed and we fell backward, though the kiss never stopped. Nothing would stop us now. Nothing would come between us again.

His hands slid under my clothes, ran up my sides, and I arched my back so he could pull my shirt up as far as he wanted. At that moment it wasn’t much different from what Sam had always done before removing my jeans and taking what she wanted from me. At that moment it wasn’t a man sitting on top of me, removing my clothes and kissing my chest. It was someone I loved, someone I’d known forever and trusted with my life.

He tossed my shirt off the bed, started unbuttoning my pants. I heard the whine of my zipper and had a second to wonder if I could actually go through with this. When it came down to having our dicks all hard and out in the open, would I be able to let him keep going or would I freak?

No, I wouldn’t. I couldn’t freak out on him.

My Converse landed with a thud, and my pants were on the floor before I really knew what had happened. Toby stood over me, looking down at my naked body. A smile stretched across his face. I followed the line of his eyes and what I found at the end was my very hard, very ready erection.

“Shit,” I hissed.

He laughed.

“What?”

“You’re ‘what’ing me,” Toby said as he kicked off his shoes, “and you’re the one looking at your boner with disappointment?”

He fingered his zipper, pulled it down until his pants fell open. I could see his hard-on waiting for a little attention. His jeans dropped to the floor. He stood there naked with his hands on his hips like he was some kind of freaking superhero and I was the dude he had to save.

He climbed up on the bed, straddled my thighs. Our erections pressed together as soon as he leaned down to kiss me again. I didn’t panic. My body didn’t stiffen. Only the hard-on I was sporting got harder.

Lifting my head, I pulled his mouth to mine. I couldn’t wait to taste his lips again. He moved too slowly. I wanted more. I needed more, and the “more” I hungered for was his tongue thrusting into my mouth, but then I felt his hand reaching down between us.
